I passed this little restaurant one day just as I turned onto Thomasboro just past the Calabash Creamery and decided right then that I would be returning for lunch the very next day.
If you like your food fresh, wholesome, and lovingly prepared, please try this one. My friend and I had lunch there yesterday and it was an experience worth repeating.
Bright, bold colors set the mood of this Mom and Pop venue. The food is awesome and service personal and warm...oh, and did I mention that everything is immaculate...nothing ordinary here.
Wish I could make rotisserie chicken with flavors like this! Love Mmm Que Rico!!

A gem in the area. Some of the best chicken you will ever try. I order half chicken with rice and black beans. This place never disappoints. The owners provide the best service and show genuine hospitality. Feels good to know your money is going to such good people.

This is a great place to eat. They have the best food in the area

This place was so good that we had to go two days in a row on our vacation. We had a table of 8 each trip and our food was always fast and well prepared. There wasn't a single complaint from our group and we all agreed that the chicken was some of the best we've ever had. We will definitely be back in the future!

  • *****

Tacos, on point. Rotisserie chicken, nailed it, empanadas, perfect dough, burrito-wow.

All the meats; chicken, beef and pork simply but perfectly executed.

Owners were friendly, service was quick but not rushed and the experience was exactly what we needed.

Oh, and the price was just right for all the food.

We stopped here two days ago. We were in the area on vacation and wanted to try something different. Both of my children were pleased. One had a burrito and the other a kids rotisserie chicken meal. I tried The spinach and ricotta empanadas.....so yummy! Everything was excellent....when we are visiting the area again we will be back!

Since finding mmm Que Rico by accident when getting ice cream next door, my husband now picks up dinner and brings it home 2-3 times a week! Everything is, well, Que Rico!

  • *****

We LOVE this place! We've been eating here for a few years and the service and food are amazing! The couple who owns it are precious!

  • *****

Really good food but ordered no cheese and got cheese so it could be better but overall it was great

Located off the main road, you need to look for it. The bright exterior helps. Parking is plentiful on both sides of the building. There are also handicapped spaces.

On entering, go down the line on the right to see the menu board. Then go to the cash register at the end of the line to order and pay. You get a number and they bring the food to you.

We initially went for the empanadas but found so much more. The empanadas are slightly smaller than I am used to, but not terribly so. They are filled with your choice of beef, chicken, or pork. Either is a fine choice. The dough is well cooked and does not overpower the filling.

The burrito was outstanding. I chose the pork, which is slow cooked, moist, and tender. The burrito was huge and stuffed with a good amount of meat in addition to rice and a lot of other items. I honestly liked it so much I forgot to take a photo.

The chicken is baked, moist, and tender. The flavor is excellent.

The pork taco used the same meat as the burrito, with onion and cilantro. It was a great choice. Make sure you also try the fried yucca.

They also have a variety of sauces. The hot red and green have different flavors but about the same intense heat. There is also a mild green paste sauce and a thinner mild green sauce. Both have different and excellent flavors. You can find something to fit your heat preference and flavor.

This is definitely worth a stop. The flavors are different from typical Mexican food, and they do a great job with their offerings.

Some of the best chicken I've had in a long time. It had a unique flavor. My wife had the salad and it was really good. Not a huge selection on the menu, but what they have on the menu they know what they're doing. Will definitely go back. Go with what you know.

  • *****

This place is awesome. Every single time we go we have an amazing meal. This last time we went here we ordered the spinach and ricotta empanadas and they were made fresh just before being served to us...which shouldn't have come as a surprise because everything in there is homemade. Excellent, delicious food of top quality. Go if you haven't gone yet!!

  • *****

Really impressed & and a pleasant surprise. The empanadas were fresh ( ask for the hot dipping sauce). Try the rotisserie chicken and yuca fries.

You can tell it is family run and everyone there is fine people.

    Fresh and very reasonably priced

This is my new favorite place to grab a bite in Calabash during our annual trip to Sunset Beach. My family has been twice this week during our vacation and I have gotten the same thing: a quarter chicken (the spices baked on it are salty, crispy and delicious), Peruvian beans, and carmalized, fried plantains. My husband prefers their burritos which are easily the size of Chipotle's. There are a few homemade sauces to pick from, but their green hot sauce is my favorite. It's a small, family -owned place and the couple who runs it are very kind and sociable.

  • *****

I absolutely loved this place! It is difficult to find restaurants that severe gluten free options. This place is amazing. The service was great and the food was amazing. This will be our go to spot while we are on vacation.

  • *****

Stopped in on a whim so glad we did. Great food and wonderful staff. We came with people who had gluten intolerance. The staff was knowledgeable and the options were tasty. Will definitely come back.

  • *****

MMM Que Rico was a great experience! Conveniently located across the street from. Callahan's and right next to the creamery. We had the half chicken with fries and plantains. Our friends had a steak that came with rice, beans and a little salad. All was great. Steak was a perfect medium. Owners were very friendly. Authentic Peruvian!

  • *****

Delicious homemade rotisserie chicken, burritos, and yummy sides, this is one of our favorite local places to enjoy a freshly cooked meal.

  • *****

The best tasting rotisserie chicken I have ever eaten is just the beginning. The tacos, empanadas and Chorizo Sandwich are absolutely to die for. Several sides are available which is awesome and the drink selection is good as well. Everything is great and that's rare to find.

  • *****

Yummy food, the employees are super nice the prices are decent and a quiet nice atmosphere. So worth going to.

We went there last night for the second time in a week's vacation, and are trying to figure out how to fit in one more visit before we leave town! The food is prepared with care by Walter and Susana, the owners and proprietors.

Peruvian flavorings make this place stand out from any other restaurant on the coast. I have had the most succulent roasted chicken here. Perfectly fried yucca, and plantain are also "not to be missed" staples.

My husband had the beef Milanese sandwich, while my son had beef and chicken tacos. The tacos are served street style with soft corn tortilla, lime, and fresh cilantro. So good!

They recommend the ice cream at the local creamery next door, but DO NOT miss dessert here! Susana makes the best flan I have ever tasted. It is so worth it! And the alfahores are amazing! I've probably spelled that wrong, but they are an amazing shortbread type sandwich cookie with a dulce de leche style filling.

I can not recommend this friendly, hospitable eatery enough. Don't miss your best meal at the beach!

  • *****

Amazing food! The chicken is tasty, perfectly cooked and tender! The sides are all delicious! The guacamole and pita chips served with it make the perfect yummy appetizer combo! The place is owned by a hardworking, kind and welcoming couple! Can not recommend enough! A must every time we come to Myrtle!

  • *****

If you are in the Myrtle, North Myrtle or Calabash area, and want THE MOST DELICIOUS CHICKEN you've ever had, come here!

Peruvian roast chicken is amazing! We had fried yucca and plantains on the side, one of each type of empanada, and chimichurri. I cannot relate how happy we were to have this meal! Do it! Go! Go now!

  • *****

The burritos are HUGE and AMAZING - Will never eat at Taco Bell again (okay that's probably a lie).

  • *****

Very authentic food. Delicious homemade taco shells, the chicken is seasoned just right. Would definitely recommend!

  • *****

Location- easy to get to and easy to park.
Atmosphere- definitely fast casual, not anything updated or nice BUT it didn't bother me.
Service- seemed fast and simple, they were nice too.
FOOD- It was delicious, sad they aren't in Charlotte!
We had the empanadas, half chicken dish, and 2 burritos. Their hot sauces were delicious and very spicy. The chimichurri they served with the empanada was on point too. I would go back for sure.
It's next to an ice cream place so that didn't hurt either.

  • *****

Very authentic and delicious food. Excellent prices too. I highly recommend you stop in

  • *****

We stumbled on this place after enjoying our ice cream next door. Our expectations coming in were high as we frequent a Peruvian restaurant at home. Their guacamole was homemade and delicious and their empanadas were perfect as well! The burritos could easily feed two people and tasted very fresh. We also enjoyed the taco salads and tacos. We will definitely make this a vacation staple.

  • *****

The food and service are excellent! Highly recommend!

  • *****

We decided to try this today for lunch. Can't say enough good things about it! We had tacos, empanadas, a burrito and a chicken sandwich in our party. All of them were excellent!! Everyone needs to give this place a try. The owners checked with us several times and just nice, sweet people!

  • *****

    Food and service was excellent!!

  • *****

Excellent food! Great staff!!! I would recommend this place to anyone. We weren't real sure what to eat this evening and were looking online and saw all of the great reviews, so we decided to try it and we were not disappointed.

  • *****

This is the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat after the beach! Their food is delicious! I highly recommend their chips and guacamole (some of the best I ever hard) and their beef tacos! Can't wait to go again to try something else!

  • *****

Delicious! And the service is lovely, it's family run & they do an excellent job. We had a whole Peruvian Rotisserie chicken w/ sides. We asked for the hot sauce & it was hot all right & so delicious with the chicken. We were craving Peruvian chicken so we came here & so so glad we did. We will be back & try the other menu items.

  • *****

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Food ALWAYS Que Rico! Service wonderful and prices gteat.

  • *****

Most delicious Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken with most delicious green sauce. We live in Myrtle Beach but will not hesitate to return here for more delicious food. The family is lovely as is the service. This is a 10 star restaurant!

  • *****

    Awesome food and great owners!

  • *****

This was my first visit at a Peruvian restaurant. I didn't know what to expect, but the staff was kind and helped me choose what might suit my taste buds. I must say that the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the whole rotisserie chicken with yucca fries, cole slaw, and fried plantains. Every one of them was on point. Both mild and hot sauces added great flavors. Highly recommended!

  • *****

I love this place! We’re locals and go to Mmm Que Rico all the time. Food is great and the owners are super nice.

  • *****

Tacos were good but different from usual taco, it had meat, cilantro, onions and in my case hot sauce. Desperately needed lettuce and sour cream, may be a jalapeo too? Burrito was great but the burrito took 30 minutes and tacos came about 7 minutes later??? None of those ingredience take that long to prep and cook. Don't get me wrong it was nice not getting cooked ahead food and on vay kay I am never in a hurry but some people would whine and cry about that so worth mentioning for those with weak constitutions and no patience.

  • *****

The most delicious chicken I ever had and the service was great

  • *****

Excellent food! The burritos are awesome.

  • *****

Obscenely delicious. Offers a good amount of options and is a great option for a day off from Shrimp and seafood. Have been there twice a week for the 2 years we've found this place. Almost went a third. The chicken is well-seasoned, and the tacos are great. The burritos are longer than your head. Go!

  • *****

The menu is small and simple but the food is amazing. The rotisserie style chicken is moist and fall of the bone juicy. The fried yucca, plantains, & rice and beans are all cooked perfectly. The empanadas are pretty good. And the green sauce that they serve with your meal is delicious. We tried the medium and the hot. I liked the flavor of the medium the best. I can't wait to go back!

  • *****

    Food was Great

  • *****

How can I have not known about this place sooner?! The empanadas are fresh and delicious. The chicken is tender and flavorful. The flan is creamy and much fought over! The customer service is even better. I had placed a to go order for both spinach and beef empanadas. When I arrived back at the house, I only had the spinach. I called, and the owner said he would bring them right over, from Calabash to Sunset Beach. Above and beyond!! If you haven't tried this restaurant yet, you're in for a delicious surprise!!

  • *****

What can I say about this place that hasn't already been said? I'd love to have a place like this back home - but as long as it's here, we'll keep coming back when we return! The whole family loved it.

Service was wonderful, as good as the food, which defies description. The chicken empanadas are just ... Out of this world. Crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, the sauces were perfect flavor compliments. The chicken was spiced just right and tender, the tacos (pork) came with cilantro and onion and were fantastic.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

When you're in town, give the seafood shacks a break and check out Mmm Que Rico, you will be so happy!

  • *****

I had the rotisserie chicken with rice and white beans. Delightful! The chicken was tender and flavorful with lots of spices on the skin. I dipped it into the hot sauce. Mind you, this sauce actually had a little heat in it unlike most so called hot sauces in restaurants! I saved the best for last ... the beef empanadas. The filling was amazing and the surrounding pastry was flaky and rich in flavor. The sauce that came with the empanadas... to die for! A garlicky delight!!
I will ask for an extra container of this sauce next time. Yes, there will be a next time and many more!

Thanks, Walter and Suzanna. It was a pleasure meeting you this evening and dining with you.

  • *****

Great service, great food! This is a must for all our future beach trips. Forget all that fish, beef empanadas for life!

  • *****

For something unique, and delicious, Mmm Que Rico is the place to visit. I love being able to support our locally owned businesses and always recommend it to anyone local or visiting. • *****

Mmm Que Rico is amazing! Everything is delicious and fresh. We had the chicken, empanadas and tacos; all were spectacularly tasty. Our family went back three times in one week during our vacation. The restaurant provides a nice atmosphere and the owners were very friendly and kind. It’s a wonderful place to stop while you’re in Calabash.

  • *****

Food was great but tacos were really small. 3 didn’t even fill me up. Maybe that’s normal for authentic Mexican tacos.

  • *****

Wow! Been meaning to try this place for a long time and we finally did today. We both got the 1/4 chicken (white) with rice and beans with the hot sauce. So amazing. The chicken just fell right off the bone and was so juicy and full of flavor. Do yourself a favor and stop by. If we weren't so full we would have tried more from the menu!

  • *****

Food is amazing! Started off our meal with a street taco each then the chicken....oh....the chicken!! Did I mention the yucca and plantains and at the end was the Peruvian flan. As the owner will say....you can't go wrong here!!!! Hospitality as great as the food. But hey, don't take my word on it.

  • *****

Great place to grab a casual bite to eat! The owners are very friendly. Had a burrito and my husband had the chicken sandwich. Will be coming back soon!

  • *****

We went yesterday for the first time....kinda bummed they aren’t open today. I want to go back soon to see if it’s as amazing the second time! So good. Thanks to the owners. They are really nice.

  • *****

We have driven many times and finally decided to try! This was the best decision we could have made for supper. Five out of 6 of us got the 1/4 piece of chicken with plantains or rice and beans. The chicken was so flavorful and delicious! I agree with another commenter who said it is the best roasted chicken on the Grand Strand. I had the burrito and had to try the taco. I got beef for both and can't wait to try the chicken and the pork ones.

Definitely a can't miss when in the area! And we can't wait to come back!

P.S. I would have posted pictures but we all dove into our meals!!

  • *****

While traveling through Calabash, North Carolina on a golf vacation my wife and I stumbled onto Mmm Que Rico. We were blown away by the food here. The chicken, potatoes, beans, cole slaw and empanadas were all amazing!! The owners greeted us and were very welcoming and told us all about the area. What a great real food diversion from regular restaurants. If you are in the area we would recommend stopping in.

My husband and I were looking for something different, no seafood, and I logged into trusty Yelp, this popped up so we went for lunch and so glad we did. We both had the 1/4 chicken dark meat, I had fried yucca with beans and he had the beans and rice. It was all tasty and the chicken was very moist and nicely seasoned. The owner and his wife are so friendly and give the place a wonderful personal touch. Will definitely be going back.

  • *****

Que ricoo!!!!?? me encanto!! Totally worth the drive for me!

  • *****

We had the rotisserie chicken, bistec plate and empanadas..all excellent and fresh made. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!!! I'll be back when I'm close!!

  • *****

There are TONS of seafood restaurants in the area but there's no place like this! This is truly a mom and pop restaurant that makes excellent, authentic Peruvian food. Absolutely home cooking at its best! You do not want to miss this place if you're on vacation in the area. I'm a local and eat here a few times a month. There's just nothing bad about it. The owners are working in the kitchen and at the register and they are passionate about the food. You can expect to be treated well and have a great meal here! It's good comfort food also. I had the flu last winter and while recovering, I had a huge bowl of the chicken vegetable soup. It was remarkable how amazing it was. You can tell the food is made from scratch and doesn't come from a can. That's what keeps me coming back!

  • *****

The food is great!!! The owners are very special people. They make you feel so welcomed .

  • *****

Wicked good food. First peruvian restaurant experience. Will definitely go back when in the area again. Friendly staff!! Thank you!

  • *****

First time eating here and it won’t be my last. Food was great and prepared quickly. The owners are a wonderful and friendly couple. So glad I decided to try it out. Next time I’m saving room for dessert!

Wife and I are new to the area and decided to give Mmm Que Rico a try for lunch. What a great surprise, the food was excellent. We ordered the half chicken and a chicken empanada which were both very good. We will definitely be back.

  • *****

Great food ... chef owned and managed
Best chicken soup I've ever tasted. This is not Mexican food

  • *****

This restaurant is an absolute must for anyone in the ocean isle/ sunset beach area! Not only is the chicken mouth watering (I can't even put into words how tasty their seasoning is), but the restaurant is family run and owned by some of the sweetest people you will ever meet! Could not recommend this place enough!

  • *****

Very delicious food. We ordered the 1/2 chicken, plantains, rice, and beans, along with three empanadas. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful while ordering. Very professional and providing great service. Will definitely be back when we are in town!

Wonderful. Flavors galore. The four of us raved about our meal the entire time we were eating. This will be one of our regulars. Love the empanadas and the Rotisserie chicken. The burrito was huge and magnificent! Clean and very friendly. Great prices too!

  • *****

Wonderfully flavorful and juicy chicken! I definitely plan to return.

    Eat all of the things

  • *****

Best chicken ever . . . chimichurri sauce was incredible . . . if you have not tried this place yet . . . you need to go!!!

  • *****

One of my favorite restaurants in the area. The rotisserie chicken is juicy and deliciously spiced. In fact the burritos and tacos are all equally delicious and the sides, the fresh coleslaw and fried yucca are perfect complements to these dishes. I haven't tried the Argentinian sausage yet, next time. The place is spotless and service down home. A family run business, we have become regulars here and highly recommend you try Mmm Que Rico!

  • *****

It doesn't look like much, but this place has some great empanadas, plus their white beans and their plantains are to die for.

  • *****

It was awesome! We will be back!!!

  • *****

When you are in Calabash, try this out! Great tacos and empanadas. There only so much fried shrimp you can eat! Change it up for wonderful Peruvian/Argentinian food! Glad I did!

  • *****

Excellent food and very friendly service. It's exactly what you'd expect from a family owned and operated business. My only regret is waiting until the last day of our vacation to try this place. Wish I had come here for lunch throughout my stay. I recommend the chicken and yucca. Wash it all down with inca kola or chicha morada.

  • *****

Best chicken I have ever put in my mouth. Specifically my mouth because, well, that's another story. Anyways, the owners/managers/crew here are the nicest people to run a local chain that I can currently think of. They serve you their amazing food and smile not just because they know it's amazing but also because they know they're sharing their piece of amazing with you. I call it chicken love. I want more chicken love. Mmm Pollo Amore. Mmm Que Rico.

  • *****

Wowzers. So good. I had a beef empanada which came with a chimichurri sauce that I dipped everything in. The empanada itself was very tasty; the sauce made it that much better. My husband had the steak sandwich, and the steak was CRAZY tender and flavorful. He also had a pork taco with avocado that was spiced and flavored without overwhelming the pork. We shared yucca and plantains and ate them all. Our 11 month old loved the chicken, beans, and rice we ordered for her. I started off getting her the white beans, but the woman who took our order (the owner?) helpfully warned me they were a little spicy so we switched to black. SO GOOD. We also ordered the guacamole which was delicious (again the owner ensured it wouldn't be made too spicy so that the baby could enjoy). The guac came with freshly fried chips - so light and crisp. Our little one decided to throw her placemat with a bunch of food on it (), but a man (also owner?) came over as we were cleaning up and told us it was a family place and that we didn't need to worry so much. This is a restaurant I wish I had back at home - I'd be a regular for sure.

  • *****

The food is amazing! so fresh and natural, you will never go wrong.
The workers are all so friendly and welcoming to each customer.

We will definitely be back very soon!

  • *****

What a pleasant surprise in Calabash to find authentic Argentinian and Peruvian eats!

The chicken, cheese & spinach, and beef empanadas are delicious (chicken are stellar).
The fried plantains are a winner as well.
Washed it down with pineapple soda- yum!

  • *****

Went there on a whim with my fiance for Memorial Day. Glad we did. Incredible food, friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

  • *****

Both the food and the service were absolutely amazing. You could tell everything was homemade. The empanadas were unbelievably good!

  • *****

Que Bueno!! If you are in the Calabash area and sick of the fried stuff everywhere, head over here for authentic, fresh Latin food. We sampled everything and loved it! If you are really hungry, get the steak burrito...it's loaded with sow roasted beef, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese (And definitely add avocado). If you aren't too hungry go for a steak taco...with fresh cilantro and onions. Wash it all down with some cold Horchata! The husband and wife owners are super sweet too.

  • *****

    Awesome!!

  • *****

Stopped by for the first time today and I'm glad I did. Had the 1/4 chicken dark, rice, and the Peruvian style beans. The chicken was delicious - lots of flavor and perfectly cooked. The Peruvian beans were a new item for me - they were excellent as well! Great flavor with a little spice. I also had a beef empanada which was great! The owners were working the restaurant and stopped by our table several times to check on us during our meal. Give them a try!

  • *****

Friends if you're looking for the real deal in Peruvian, Mexican, Argentinian cuisine then this is the spot!! Nothing artificial here my friends just real authentic home-cooked cuisine!!!! Do yourself a favor and try this place out!

Incredible owners with great stories of fulfilling the American dream after working 30 years in DC. Oh yeah, and the food is amazing, all homemade & seasoned to perfection.

  • *****

Juicy and delicious chicken! So happy this place exists and chooses to remain in the area. We also enjoyed the plantains. We'll return!

  • *****

Go for the flan, stay for everything else! We tried a few items and all were great. You really can't go wrong when ordering, but our favorites (beyond the flan) were the beef burrito, roasted chicken, beef empanada, spinach & ricotta empanada, rice, and plantains. Food was great, service was fast and everyone was very nice. We will be back.

  • *****

A true "Mom and Pop" restaurant. Just chanced upon this restaurant while looking for a place for lunch. So glad we stopped! The food is delish!!!

  • *****

Being in Calabash and not in the mood for fried seafood, we tried MMM que Rico. Service was very friendly and the food is excellent. The owner recommended we try the Peruvian chicken and it did not disappoint. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the mood for a change of pace.

    Great chicken and hot sauce.

  • *****

We discovered this joint next door to our favorite ice cream place, Calabash Creamery, during a recent visit and after reading all the excellent Yelp reviews, decided to give it a try. Glad we did!

The tacos are authentically Mexican and the tortillas made in house. They ran a very reasonable $2 apiece. The Peruvian rotisserie chicken was cooked perfectly and was therefore incredibly moist and ran about $8. The black beans and rice, the two sides served with a chicken, where just okay however. The mayonnaise-based sauce for the chicken was also a little lacking in my opinion (but keep in mind I'm Irish.) Most importantly, the plantains were prepared to perfection as they were piping hot and perfectly carmelized.

The empanadas were also excellent. We tried the spinach and ricotta at $2.75. They also offer chicken and beef at $1.99 each.

The kid meals, at $5.55 each including drink, are an excellent value and our finicky kids loved theirs.

The place is immaculate had a 97 sanitary rating on our visit. Husband and wife owners we're both friendly and attentive. Atmosphere of the dining area is simple, as is the presentation of the food, which is served on styrofoam plates.

If you're in downtown Calabash, put off standing in line at your favorite fried seafood joint for a night, and give this a shot instead. It's definitely a Gotta Try! You'll love the food and leave feeling appreciated.

Excellent food and reasonably priced! A real find in Calabash, NC. The owners are a "plus" in making you know they genuinely want you to enjoy their food. Peruvian, Argentinian and Mexican food - all exceptional. MG

  • *****

We love this restaurant! They are family friendly and always remember us when we come in. We have 2 little ones and they always welcome us and the mess we make. :) We are local and it's nice that they remember us in the sea of tourists that come in. I tend to get the chicken, yuka, & plantains, but you can't go wrong with anything. I lived in Peru for a year, so it's always nice to get a taste of Peru anywhere! !Que Rico!

  • *****

Tried Que Rico Saturday evening and not disappointed. Excellent, tasty chicken and reasonably priced. Owners make this place a restaurant to visit. Going back today. MG

  • *****

Amazing empanadas the customer service is great, if you are in Calabash definitely go here for dinner or lunch, has takeout, AMAZING fried yucca, go there for sure.

  • *****

The food is amazing! The workers are all so friendly and welcoming. Got the 1/2 chicken, plantains, and yuka. We will definitely be back!

  • *****

Do not miss out on the Peruvian chicken. It's really tasty and moist. The yuca fries are to die for. The plantains were perfectly cooked. We liked it so much that we went back the next day and ordered the exact same thing. Hubbie got the choripan sandwich with garlic sauce. He would have gone back a third time but his brother left him behind. This is the real deal Latin American restaurant.

  • *****

Great place great food friendly staff! Highly recommended! The chicken is flavorful and the sides are just as good! Fall off the bone chicken!

  • *****

Really Great food and reasonably priced. A TRUE "Mom and Pop" restaurant! (You will meet them). We are OIB locals and just tried it for the first time and are definitely adding to our rotation. If your in the mood for superb and simple straight forward food and need a break from seafood, we highly recommend!! We tried chicken, black beans, plantains, and sausage sandwich with Fresh Hot French fries. Shares parking lot with Creamery/Ice cream.

Great foods No place like it. Great to have a diverse option in Brunswick.

    Delicious chicken!

  • *****

Best Spanish restaurant in the area....
Food delicious as I remember my family diners to be. Can't wait to go again and have empanadas, delicious flan and best steak and onions.

  • *****

This place is fantastic. The chicken is very juicy and seasoned perfectly. The empanadas are wonderful. I also loved the fried plantains. This will be a must eat at for when we are in town

  • *****

This is a great restaurant, looks very clean, owners are nice, and talked to me. I like that the food is basic in the sense that I can have chicken and beans and nothing else or I can sauce it up with their many salsas. Some restaurants try to do too much as in add too much salt, or fry everything and sometimes it's hard to find baked, steamed or broiled that's flavored properly but the food here was tasty and healthy which serves my high protein low carb diet well. Of corse if you wanted non healthy food they have your options too, but again this place is perfect for what I like to eat.

  • *****

Deliciously great food every time we've been......and that's lot!

  • *****

I don't know how you would have discovered this gem if it wasn't for Yelp! Very simple menu and the food was absolutely delish! I got the 1/4 chicken w/ plantains and fries. I read on here to try the Inka Cola and I, too, recommend getting it with your meal. The owner came by our table 3 times to make sure everything was good and talked to us for a little bit. The third time he came by he brought us wet naps and I thought that was very considerate. The restaurant is very clean.. almost sterile and is a very casual environment. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to eat!

  • *****

A great deviation from fried seafood! This is not a rotisserie chicken; it is a Peruvian charcoal fired chicken with unique spices that give it great flavor and juiciness! The Peruvian beans are great, and an excellent compliment to the rice! Check them out!

  • *****

Just damn good. Go you won't be disappointed

  • *****

Excellent food and even better service by the owners.

  • *****

Everything on the menu is delicious. Highly recommend the fried yucca. The owners took wonderful care of us tonight.

  • *****

This is a small family business, and mom n pop are the bosses here. Super friendly environment. You feel welcome!

As for the food, the menu is limited (don't get me wrong, this is not a bad thing). I ordered the chicken with a side of yuca, excellent! We also ordered a steak sandwich, which was also fantastic. The only thing I wasn't that enthusiastic about was the beef empanadas, because I did not like the wrap they use, but the feeling was very good.

Definitely will go back when we return to NC!

  • *****

Amazing food, friendly staff, kid friendly, clean establishment...can't wait to go back when we are back in town.

  • *****

    Wow! What a great surprise!
Tucked on a corner in the cute little town of Calabash, NC is a terrific resturant. Don't blink, you'll miss it.
Mmmmmm Que Rico is a Peruvian chicken rotisserie resturant. Serving up delicious plantains, beans, empanadas and of course the juiciest chicken any where!
Make sure you come and visit with Walter and his wife Susan. They'll make sure you have a wonderful meal.
Be open to trying some new foods or drinks. You'll be happy you made this a food stop.

  • *****

Great place for a quick bite to eat. The chicken is so flavorful and both the chicken and beef empanadas are AMAZING!!!.

The only down side is I have to wait until im back next year to have it again :-(

  • *****

After returning to vacation outside of Calabash for the first time in nearly a decade, I was a little perplexed when a friend said yelp indicated that a Peruvian/Argentine style restaurant was the best place to have lunch.

Yelp - you did good. Real good.

The two folks running the restaurant took excellent care of us throughout a meal of a meal of a whole chicken and rice, beans, fried yucca and plantains. We also got two empanadas. All of it was outstanding. I ate my face off, but still felt weirdly sad when there was nothing left but bones.

  • *****

This place is excellent! We had the 1/4 chicken dark and 1/4 chicken white with black beans, plantains, and cole slaw. This is some of the best chicken we've had anywhere. The sides were all great. The medium spicy green sauce was superb. I could eat here every day!

  • *****

I've eaten here three times now and it very consistent. Awesome chicken, rice and beans and well priced. Highly recommend.

  • *****

Tasty and affordable place to grab a bite. Great chicken. Sides were just OK. They have Inca Cola!

  • *****

    Just had dinner there. Wow

  • *****

Absolutely delicious! We will be back time and time again!! The owners were so kind and generous! Love family owned restaurants like this one!! A gem in Calabash!

  • *****

This place was fantastic - the garlic sauce for the chicken and the chimichurri for the beef empanadas - OMG. Owners very friendly - we WILL be back.

  • *****

Oh yes, this is the tastiest take-out food in the area! Perfectly broiled chicken, delicious sides (coleslaw is my favorite) and some nice homemade desserts, too. Yum, flan.
A whole chicken and three sides for 20 bucks, you can't beat it! And right next to Calabash Creamery, so pick up a pint on your way out.

  • *****

Awesome chicken! I had 1/2 a chicken (dark meat) and it was as good as it gets! A must try- the fried yucca. I would replace french fries with fried yucca at every fast food franchise going if I had the ability. Friendly staff, clean, casual setting.

  • *****

Outstanding food. Very sensitive to gluten free needs. Wonderful family run restaurant. Cleanest establishment I've seen in a long long time.
A rare find and a definite must come back place.

  • *****

This restaurant is a hidden gem! The owners work alongside their staff and really put TLC into everything they prepare! Can't get more authentic than this! The flavors are intense but not overpowering. I've seen many attempts at this style of cuisine but Mmm Que Rico hits the nail on the head!

  • *****

Best tasting chicken in Calabash and very healthy for you. Was in town on business this past week and could not get enough of mmm Que Rico

  • *****

We have been down in the area visiting family for the week and have eaten at some very nice places but nothing compares to the homie feeling that mmm Que Rico gave my friends and I. The atmosphere is very quaint and peaceful and everything is extremely well kept and clean. The staff and owners of the place are the friendliest people we have encountered thus far while being down here. The food was fantastic and we will definitely make it a point to stop back in whenever we are down here. I strongly suggest to anyone who visits or lives in the area to stop in and try it as well. You surely won't regret it.

  • *****

The owners are wonderful! And the food is Delish !!!!!!

  • *****

The best anywhere! Go, you will be so glad you did. Beyond great food, service and clean.

  • *****

This has become our go to place for an easy and casual dinner on the way back from all day at the beach. Admittedly skeptical at first about Peruvian chicken in the "fried shrimp" capital but it does not disappoint. If you want to skip the hours spent going to other restaurants in season and get a great dinner to go or dine in a casual setting, this is it.

Yums: chicken is spiced well and never dried out. Love the yucca and white beans. Also love the empanadas.
Letdowns: none really. Black beans could use a bit more flavor.

    Parking: free and plenty
    Dress: beach casual

  • *****

Absolutely delicious Peruvian and Argentinian dishes. The owners and staff were very kind and attentive. My husband and I will be returning soon!

  • *****

Amazing food...if you are in the area you have to swing by and try it. It's a nice change to all the seafood in the area. Can't wait to go back on our next vacation. The owners are really nice and the place is super clean.

  • *****

This is one restaurant you really should go to. It is a family owned business selling authentic Peruvian food. The star is the Peruvian rotisserie chicken. Moist, tender and perfectly seasoned. I believe this may be the best roasted chicken I've ever had. The sides that we had were very good. Prices were very reasonable. I had to try the chicha morada, a traditional chilled Peruvian drink made with purple corn, apples, pineapple, cloves and other spices plus sugar. It was delicious!
We talked to one of the owners for a few minutes. She is from Argentina and her husband is from Peru. Very friendly and pleasant and interesting to hear how the came to be in the US.
Also the place was spotlessly clean. They take a lot of pride in their business and it shows.

  • *****

Been waiting to try this place since we moved here and finally did and sorry we didn't earlier. The Chicken is moist, juicy and seasoned just right. All the side were delicious. We had the black beans, plantains and rice. A whole chicken with three side is only $20. We took half the chicken home. The sign is a little hard to read from Thomasboro road. And from Business 179 you can't see it. Just look for the Calabash Creamery sign and its in the same parking lot right across from Callihan Gift shops.

  • *****

Definitely not your run of the mill food stop in Calabash. If you're looking for something that isn't fried fish, you need to try Mmm Que Rico. We've been a few times. The rotisserie chicken is delicious. Fries are really good. Other sides are average (rice, beans, yucca). Empanadas are all really flavorful, and home made; both the chicken and beef empanadas have raisins in them (it's a sweet surprise!), the spinach and ricotta is very good. Judging from the pictures I've seen I'll be giving the tacos a try the next time! All the sauces we've had are very good and fresh. And the owners are really friendly!

  • *****

This is THE BEST PERUVIAN restaurant in the Carolinas!!!!! Their rotisserie chicken is OUT OF THIS WORLD, absolutely amazing!!!!! A definite must try!!!!! ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  • *****

One of my favorite places to eat in Calabash...

  • *****

I wanted to give them a 3.5... rounded up to 4 as there were more positives than negatives. We were staying nearby and decided to come and check this place out based on the great reviews. We used to have a spot we loved in New York for Peruvian chicken and, since moving to London, haven't had a chance to check out any of the London Peruvian spots. The space is newly renovated and clean with some booths and tables, enough seating for around 30 or so.

When we arrived on a Friday during lunch time, there were about 10 people in the restaurant. We had a look at the menu fully intending to stick to the chicken but then a couple of things caught our eye; the special of the day (chicken vegetable soup - $6.00) and their homemade burritos and tacos. We love tacos and burritos but at a Peruvian place? We were a bit skeptical. However, when the diner in front of us ordered four tacos, we decided to give them a whirl. We might have been a bit too overeager and ended up ordering 2 tacos (carnitas and chicken, though they also had beef - $2.00/each), chicken vegetable soup and a half chicken ($10.55). The half chicken came with 2 sides and we decided on rice and beans. Black and white beans were offered and we went with the white.

Our tacos came out first and they shared there was some kind of mix-up so they had given us three tacos! Now that's super nice service. The tacos came dressed with onion and cilantro (how we love them to be dressed) and the option of a medium or hot salsa. We opted for the hot and you could tell it was homemade. The medium seemed to be a salsa verde from seeing another diner's order but we didn't try it so don't know how it tasted. The hot salsa could have used a bit more salt but had a good amount of heat that went well with the tacos. You could tell that the tortillas were homemade, which was a big plus. That being said, these weren't the best tortillas we'd ever had. The meats were well seasoned but just a tad bit dry; though, a bit of the salsa helped immensely. Overall, a really good taco - especially for North Carolina!

The half chicken was moist and had a nice blend of spices rubbed onto the skin. The rice and beans were pretty forgettable and a bit bland. Though, a bit of the green sauce perked it right up. The chicken was definitely the star - as it should be!

Surprisingly, my favorite of the meal was definitely the special for the day. The vegetable chicken soup came with chunks of carrot, celery, potato, chicken (duh) and half a cob of corn. This was such a homey dish and very satisfying. There was a slight sweetness to the soup, probably from the corn and carrots along with a chicken-y broth that you could tell was from simmering and not store-bought chicken broth. The soup was reminiscent of the Colombian ajiaco.

Overall, a nice place for a quick lunch bite! There aren't a ton of options in the area that aren't touristy and you can tell this is a locals place. From the clientele to the genuine care reflective in their food and service, if you're looking for something other than fried seafood... this is the spot!

  • *****

This place is fantastic - a hidden gem of delicious diversity and much needed. The owner is delightful and we really hope they keep growing - awesome to have them here!!
The homemade tacos are awesome as are the empanadas. Must go if you like food with flavor!

Amazing food...friendly staff/owners. We stop by to eat every time we're in town.

  • *****

The best chicken in town and the only place to get yucca and plantains. AWESOME GOOD!!!!!!!!

  • *****

Had to try this Peruvian chicken place, a new gem in the area. The food is authentic and delicious. The rotisserie chicken is seasoned nicely and cooked until tender. I had the canary beans (white beans) and rice. The canary beans are tasty with just a little kick. The owner is very pleasant and gave us great service with our large group. The prices are very affordable for great food. We'll definitely be going back! It's a nice break from the traditional seafood dinners in the area.

  • *****

Good food at a good price. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The chicken is nice and tender. Try the fried yucca.

  • *****

Still amazing a year later!!! Ask for the medium sauce!!! And the maracuya if you like fruit juice!!!!

  • *****

Glad this was recommended that we try this place. The yucca was fantastic along with the top sirloin sandwich and the chicken. Very nice owners and very informative on the dishes since it was my first time. Perfect place for meat and potatoes place.

  • *****

We tried this restaurant for the first time a few days ago, and it was so good that we've already gone back.  The chicken is delicious.  We chose the green hot sauce, and it's awesome.  The yummy beef empanadas have just the right amount of fresh garlic, and the sauce is really tasty.  The owners are delightful, and the atmosphere is definitely casual.  We'll probably be spending too much time here!

  • *****

Fantastic food, best yuka you will ever taste! Friendliest owners. Simply a must visit.

Bonus: I've never seen it crowded and there's a delicious creamery next door.

    Enjoy!

  • *****

The food was excellent. The service was wonderful. Had to go back for more empanadas. The flan and alfajores were so good. Can't wait to come back. The price was great for thee people was able to afford the treat my argentine parents.

  • *****

Excellent food! Great service and friendly owners and staff!  Right beside ice cream shop!

  • *****

This place was a great find! I got a burrito and it was amazing! The owner is very friendly and was a nice experience talking with them.

  • *****

Hand-made tacos make a great appetizer for the delicious chicken. The white beans, rice and plantains are very good sides. The maracuya (passion fruit drink) was refreshing.

There are times when the siren's call of fried seafood  isn't so alluring - but if you're in Calabash, there are few other options. Que Rico brings a delicious, somewhat healthier, and more worldly choice.

My wife and I have been to a few Peruvian chicken restaurants, and I consider myself fairly familiar with the concept. It's rotisserie chicken, and you can pieces that you tear off in sauces that are either a peppery hot, or that are smooth and tangy like mayonnaise, with a kick.

The chicken here is absolutely the best I've had. It's moist, seasoned well, and just the right size. If you're an average guy, get the half chicken (I liked the dark), which will fill you up. The skin on this chicken isn't to be missed - it's so well-spiced that if you want to watch your figure and decide to skip the skin, you'll be missing what I think is the best part.

As for sides, you'd be foolish not to get the fried yucca, which is cooked to starchy perfection. It's especially good if you dip the yucca sticks in the ahi Amarillo sauce (the yellow one).  If you've never had yucca, the owner explains that it's like "French fries filled with mashed potatoes".   That's not a bad description, but they're more appetizing than that description.

The empanadas are all delicious - unlike others you may have had, which are deep fried, these appear to be baked, but that causes no loss in flavor. I especially liked the Spinach and Ricotta empanadas (which tasted like it had nutmeg in it), and my wife liked the chicken, which was a type of "barbecued" chicken with berries in it. Try one of each with your chicken!

Overall, it's a deceptively simple meal that I will be sure to return to when I'm back in Calabash.

  • *****

Wonderful spot for lunch if you are craving a hot meal and something aside from the seafood and delis populated in the area. I love Peruvian food and welcome this little gem to Calabash. The restaurant is very clean and the workers are very attentive. Lunch is filling and affordable. The plantains are a wonderful side and I enjoyed the green hot sauce that accompanied the chicken. My husband also enjoyed his meal thoroughly. Try it out!

  • *****

This place is a hidden little gem in Calabash...right behind the creamery.

The owners are precious and can cook up some DELISH chicken and rice!!

My kids loved the chicken and rice as well...beware the green sauce is HOT!

Empanadas were surprising DELISH as well (my first time trying!!)

We love that it's quiet in the middle of the crazy summer crowd at the local OVER PRICED places!!

You get your money's worth here...

  • *****

Great stop after a long morning on the beach. We had the carne asada, chorizo sandwich, 1/4 chicken plate, and one of each of the empanadas. They were all wonderful! The restaurant was also spotlessly clean. We will definitely be back the next trip to the area.

  • *****

Just had a late lunch with my husband and dad and everything, I mean everything, was wonderful. The owners obviously take great pride in their business and the food that they serve. I had the fried plantains and they were amazing, just amazing. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the iced tea was fresh and cold. I'm only bummed I'm just visiting!! Excellent locally owned find! #happytummy

  • *****

Very impressed by this place! Walked in, and they looked like they were getting ready to close, but they served my friend and I with a smile. I ordered the chicken plate with boiled potatoes and plantains. The food was delicious! You should definitely check out this place!

  • *****

We came here for lunch as so many restaurants in the area are overpriced and not so good. The chicken was delicious, as we're all the sides we ordered. The owners were also extremely nice. Definitely going back!

  • *****

Stopped here for lunch with my girlfriend and everything we tried was very good. We got the rotisserie chicken with rice and plantains, I also got a beef empanada with this green hot sauce. This is a great place for a quick meal.

  • *****

Wow!  What a hidden gem. All homemade food that melts in your mouth. The chicken is fantastic as you would expect but the empanadas are to die for.  The Peruvians beans with rice is also top drawer. Some of this best food in this part of the state. Did I mention that it's ridiculously cheap?  We will be back all summer!

  • *****

Great owners! I had the 1/4 chicken with plantains and fried yucca.  The yucca was the most delicious thing I've ever tasted! The chicken was so juicy and flavorful.  I will definitely visit again!

  • *****

We came here for lunch with my mom based on her recommendation (which surprised me, because she doesn't normally like different types of food), and we absolutely loved it! I tried a carnitas (pork) taco with spicy sauce and a beef empanada. The taco tortilla was a corn tortilla and was a little small, but had a good heap of deliciously seasoned shredded pork, and the spicy sauce was definitely spicy and a great complement to the pork. The beef enchilada filling was slightly spicy, and I added some of the spicy taco sauce to it which also tasted amazing. I even went back and ordered another carnitas taco because it was that good! My mom ordered the rotisserie chicken (which I tried, and it was nice and tender and juicy).

The atmosphere is casual and you order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. The people who work there are so nice and friendly, and they answer any questions you have.

My husband and I can only take so much fried seafood, and this is such a unique place for this area! We're looking forward to going back soon.

  • *****

All a matter of timing. A couple of Canadians escaping the snow here in Myrtle Beach for a golf vacation...shopping at Food Lion....a guy in front of us gives us a card and says he runs this restaurant just a few km from us in Calabash and asks us to give it a try. Well, we did just that tonight and was more than amazed!
We shared a half chicken dinner, black beans and fried yucca (never had that before). The owners answered all of my questions about how things were cooked and what the heck is fried yucca! We ordered take out. The chicken was spiced just right but we also tried out all of the dips they had from mild to hot! Dips were fabulous but the chicken stands on it's own spicing!
Tasted great with both a Spanish white wine and a Miller Lite!
We will definitely be going back!

My family has been enjoying MQR's delicious chicken since they opened, including a take-away catered meal for a family event. Walter and Susana are delightful people, and Susana's flan is superb!

Very nice restaurant. Order at the front and then you sit down and they bring it to you. We had the 1/4 chicken dark meat, fried yucca , white beans and Flan for dessert. Everything was excellent. Will defiantly go back. For lunch they give you 10% off and the inca cola was a nice treat for a drink!

This is a great find behind the Creamery.  We stopped by and had a little lunch.  We were a little gun shy about trying this food, so we stayed safe and ordered the chicken, fries and coleslaw.  I did brave it and had the pineapple cola.

The chicken was moist and flavorful, and I wished I could have had more.  The fries, well they're fries and they were fine.  The cole slaw was delicious and the pineapple cola is surprisingly delicious.  I didn't touch the hot sauce, because, well I don't want to go there.  The most memorable  was the chicken and we'll be coming back for more.  The lunch was reasonably priced and the food was so good.   Next time, I'll venture to try more.

The food is delicious, wonderful, authentic, clean!  The services is sweet, genuine people who care. The prices are very reasonable and we highly recommend this place.

Que Rico indeed! Awesome chicken. As good or better than anything I have found in Peru. The owners are super friendly. The hot sauce is actually hot and packed with flavor. Best flan I have had in a while.

If this is your first time I would reccommend the fried yucca, Peruvian (canary) beans, and the Chicha Morada. Can't wait to come back with some friends!

Wonderful place to have lunch, when in Myrtle Beach. This place is very clean and the food is excellent! The owners are very friendly and the chicken lunch plate we ordered was very flavorful. We plan to visit this place often and highly recommend it. For desert don't forget have the Flan.

In Calabash, when it comes to restaurant choices, there's basically, seafood, seafood, and more seafood.  I love Calabash seafood!  Don't get me wrong.  But it's nice to have something different occasionally.  And with Calabash not offering much variety, this is why my husband and I were so excited to stumble upon Mm Que Rico.  The bold splash of blue, yellow, and red colored decor brings a nice change to the average everyday decor in Calabash, and does so without appearing tacky or gauche.  Inside the restaurant is clean, the vibrant colors continuing, and two owners who greet you with sincerity and hospitality.

Can the quality of the food match the attractiveness of the decor and customer service?  Absolutely.  The welcoming simple menu (and reasonably priced, I might add) offers guests authentic Peruvian cuisine, without overwhelming them with too many choices which aren't discernible.   My husband and I both ordered the 1/4 chicken plate with rice.  He also ordered black beans; I, the guacamole.  My husband's meal was 100% cohesive--the black beans mixed with the yellow rice was a perfect balance to the rotisseries chicken which is seasoned with a recipe the owner worked to perfect over seven years.

Mmm Que Rico's arrival has spiced up the little fishing village whose luster was beginning to fade.  I hope tourists and residents will give this establishment their business and embrace the bold flavors of Peruvian cuisine.  Next time we venture to the beach, we're going to try the flan.  It looks amazing!

Soooo good. My 4.5 yr old  daughter, "this is the best place we've eaten." We loved the chicken, rice and all the sauces. Finally some authentic, flavorful food in NC!

This is a great place. A refreshing change from all the seafood. The chicken is fantastic. Moist and very tasty. The hot sauce is really hot taste at your own risk.

The homemade flan is amazing. Usually not a fan of flan, but theirs is really exceptional.

Location is just behind the Calabash Creamery.

Love this place!  All the food is amazingly flavorful!  I highly recommend the chicken with side of plantains and rice.  The tacos are homemade and the empanadas are among my favorite.

It's family run and they are the nicest people.   The restaurant itself is nice and clean.  Every time we leave here we immediately want to come back.

Go and try this place.  You won't be disappointed.

Good authentic chicken and variety here. Support these guys! Some of the nicest folks you will meet down here in Calabash. Thanks for the good food.

This is family owned by the sweetest couple.. You will not be disappointed!! The best rotisserie Peruvian chicken!!     They also have great chicken Parnassians and chicken sandwiches!!

Delicious! The food is fabulous and very welcome change from calabash fried seafood (and all the other touristy places around). Authentic and tasty -- the sauces are a must-have addition. The flan is a wonderful ending. And, to top it off, the owners are pleasant, friendly, and eager to please. We will be back again and again.

    YEP. This is a MUST.
The Chicken and Empanadas are delicious. I highly recommend the Inca Cola and Fried Yuca.
The restaurant is right next door to the Creamery, so we like to eat here and walk next door. Makes for a great and economically sound night out with the family.
    Thanks!

I have been visiting Sunset Beach for about 8 years, and this is by far the best food I have found in any restaurant anywhere in the area -- including Sunset Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, Calabash and all of the Grand Strand beaches.  One small, but telling, example:  the fried yuca is crisp on the outside and light and airy on the inside.  I didn't know you could impart that kind of texture to yuca.  Please, do me a favor and eat here, to keep these people in business, so I can eat here again when I return next year.  Thanks in advance.

The best chicken flavor I ever had!!!

  • *****

Great to get a new restaurant that has some international flavor in this area.

Though the Pollo a la Brasa (succulent marinated / roasted chicken) is clearly the feature of this clean, very friendly and family run establishment there are other items not to be missed that you are not going to find anywhere else close.

House-made Empanadas, fried plantain, fried yucca and Peruvian white beans were all great.  Sandwiches served on excellent crusty rolls stuffed with Carne Asada, their chicken or Chorizo with Chimichurri or choice of other house-made sauce.

The Chicha Morada and Maracuya drinks are made fresh and yes, they stock Inca Cola (I know that stuff has fans).  Plenty of other choices for a sweet tooth, I tried the Flan since the owner's wife makes it and it was the best I've ever had.  They also make the Bread Pudding there (this southern boy will try that next time).

Good, authentic food prepared by nice people, give them a try.

My husband is from Venezuela and when we visit his aunt in Baltimore there is a great place that has Peruvian rotisserie chicken.  When we were in N. MYRTLE beach he asked me to find a place that has good Peruvian rotisserie chicken like the place in Baltimore and I believe we have found it.  The chicken is so tender and seasoned perfectly.   It will definitely not disappoint anyone.  They have perfectly fried sweet plantain and yucca, flan and more.  IT IS GREAT!!!!!

I visit North Carolina about five times a year and have always driven past this place not knowing what it was, boy was I missing out. Some of the best South American cuisine I've ever had (and I'm spoiled with South Florida food)!

Wonderful atmosphere and the owner and his staff are wonderfully helpful. Food was flavorful and moist. Must get the chicken. I will definitely stop by again!!!!

Wow! This chicken is very tasty and full of flavor!! The owner is a great guy and will explain the menu to you. Don't get intimidated! They have a variety of options; they are just presented with the menu overhead as opposed to in front of you. My mom and I split the half chicken with rice and beans and it was perfect! They also have some Peruvian treats like yucca, inca cola, and chicha morada in case you want to try something other than French fries and coca cola. We will be back for sure!

AMAZING rotisserie chicken! The fried plantains as a side were delicious and you must try the pineapple-based cola, Inca Cola. The owners are from Peru (known for knowing how to rotisserie grill a chicken!) and Argentina (known for amazing steaks!). I've brought 4 others here and they all loved it too!

Ok folks, this place is a MUST VISIT!

    Food and service were Excellent.

My wife and I both had the 1/4 Chicken. Chicken was moist and cooked perfect.

I had black beans and my wife the white. The sauces were excellent as well.

We will be back! We hope they make it!

I was one of the "taste subjects" for this Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken Chicken as they were fine tuning the recipes. Needless is to say they were all fantastic.

Got hooked up on their Yuca and the Inka Cola.

You must try it!!! Guaranteed you will come back for seconds, and thirds and so on.

Delicious! Finally a good restaurant in Calabash!  So much better than the Calabash alternatives of imported seafood deep fried in old oil, or the microwave fare of the boundary house. Delicious chicken, great authentic sides ( my beans needed a little salt but whatever, I can add salt ) and try the Inca Kola. It's really tasty.
I recommend this to anyone visiting or living in the area
